Past Few Days

The last few days Jeremy has had some visitors. Sometimes he cried, sometimes he slept while people were here. Over all I think he enjoyed having people tell him how perfect he is.

This morning Jeremy had a doctor's appointment at 9:40. It was our first time having a need to get him dressed, fed, and burped by a certain time. We were doing great until his machine started to go off because of a loose connection. We still got there with 5 minutes to spare. His doctor's office is in the building right next to the hospital, so we have become champs at knowing how long it takes to get there.

Today Jeremy weighs 9 pounds and 2 ounces. He has gained a full pound since his birth. He is at the 50 percentile for weight and height, but his head size is at 24 percentile. So he did not get my huge head. Hopefully his brain will be as smart as mine.

While his doctor was doing his exam, I was holding him on my lap. As he was looking at his cord, the doctor grabbed it and tried to rip it off. It took a couple of tries but he got it off. It freaked me out. Even though I would help hold Jeremy down for putting tubes in at the hospital, the belly button pulling was a little too much for me. His doctor asked if I wanted to keep it for the baby book, and I was like "throw it away!" Apparently it's like a loose tooth, you just need to suck it up and get it. Jeremy didn't even flinch, unlike his mom. At his 4 week check up we are going to discuss getting rid of the apnea machine.

After the doctor's office we stopped at Target to pick up a few things baby things that we needed. We took the stroller out and Graig took Jeremy around getting his stuff and I got my items. I don't know how I ended up with the cart, but Graig was so proud walking around with the baby. He had a big old smile on his face. Then we stopped at Kroger to get a prescription filled and by this point we knew we needed to get home soon before the porker got hungry again.

Then we came home and relaxed. And of course we have more pictures from today. Jeremy likes to have his hands on his face when he sleeps (like me). Or he likes to have his arms up. This morning I was holding him while he slept while his hands were down. Then it was like someone yelled FREEZE and he jumped and put his arms up. The funny part is that he was laying at 45 degree angle so it took some work to keep his arms there.
