Starting Wednesday Jeremy was in a terrible mood and was making noises I have never heard him make. It was exhausting! Especially since he kept needing his mommy the night before. My parents came down that day for my birthday. They left shortly after lunch since I looked exhausted and they didn't want me to feel like I need to entertain them.
When Graig got home, Jeremy was even worse. We took his temperature and it was 102.1. I was a little worried to say the least. He definitely didn't have a temperature earlier. I called the doctor, since I couldn't remember at what temperature, for his age, would need to go to the ER (for 4 months 103 fyi). The poor little guy was just oozing heat. And the tylenol wasn't doing anything for the temperature. After a few hours, a cool bath, and some love, I finally got him to go to sleep. He still was very warm. So, I sat there for who knows how long watching him breath. I wouldn't be so crazy if he didn't have his history with apnea in the NICU.
On Thursday I took the little guy in and he got an antibiotic for possible sinusitis. Can't really say for sure what caused the temperature spike. The next possible step of problem could be a uti or kidney infection. I was told to smell all of his pee. Sounds like fun right? I also was supposed to stop the rice cereal for a few days.
Anyway, Thursday all day he still had a temperature, even giving Tylenol every 4 hours. Poor guy. So that meant no daycare on Friday. I wasn't scheduled to work at my store on Friday. But I was supposed to go into another store for part of the day and do training on our new computer system. Graig, being the great dad and husband, took a half day on Friday. Jeremy didn't have a temperature, but did start Thursday night with the diarrhea from the antibiotic. No big dealsky, I knew that was coming.
This weekend I had to work. So Graig was in charge of the little guy. He needed to start some pedialyte so they came into my store to pick some up. Jeremy hung out with me in the pharmacy for a little bit. He met some of my customers and was in a great mood. Later Graig was able to go for a walk with him since it was 70 out. I am jealous that I missed the nice weather.
Sunday Jeremy had another good day, except he does usually poop in between every feeding. When I got home I gave him a little rice cereal mixed with pedialyte, hoping to help bulk the contents of his belly up for overnight. Poor kid has some nasty diaper rash, but again that is expected. So we are trying to change him right after he poops. It's really annoying when he does it in the middle of the night!
At some point I noticed what looked like a small amount of blood in his diaper. I think it happened before I gave him the cereal but I can't say for sure.
So, today we were back to see the nurse, not only did I take Jeremy with me, but I took a dirty diaper with me. I live an exciting and thrilling life. It definitely was blood, so we are going to go 2 weeks without anything but milk to see what happens to his belly then. Then we get to go back if there is still a problem. I went there last Monday for his well baby visit, then the nurse practitioner on Thursday, then the nurse practitioner again today. One of the receptionist was like "you again?"
Tomorrow Jeremy is going back to daycare and we will go back to our normal routine. I am counting down the days until he's done with the amoxicillin.

Tell Germy that infant fevers are my thing. I never tried to steal apnea from him.
