Let me just start with: everything is fine.
Jeremy's nails grow so fast. It seems like every other day I need to trim one of them. This morning I was complaining about them and Graig and I tried to trim one hand while Jeremy was eating. We did an OK job. Graig took him and was playing with him on the floor. He decided to help me out by trying to cut the other hand. It did not go so well.
Jeremy's finger had a very deep cut. He started to cry so I picked him up and comforted him. He calmed down. But boy oh boy there was blood all over me. We put a bandaid on it (before I got a look at it). Then we went upstairs. His whole hand was covered in blood and the bandaid had washed off from all the liquid. Jeremy's quite a bleeder.
We took gauze and applied pressure. After 30 minutes of it still bleeding like crazy, I called the local urgent care. I was hoping they could see him and we could avoid the long waiting of the ER. They said just to go the ER. Jeremy had gotten really fussy (this happened around nap time). So we got in the car and went to the hospital. I dropped Graig and Jeremy at the door and found a parking spot.
When I got there, Jeremy and Graig were the only people in the waiting room. So he got seen pretty fast, for an ER. They decided to not do stitches but use something that binds to blood to help it clot. It was very hard to try and treat the little guy. He was very fussy at this point. We decided to have me feed him, while Graig holds his body still, and the nurse can treat the cut. The bandage didn't hold the first time, so we had to do it a second time.
It seemed to have stopped the bleeding. We waited for a few minutes to see if blood would soak through. It didn't. So we were on the way home. We got home and Graig went to take Jeremy out of his carseat and we noticed he had knocked the bandage off. He was still bleeding. This has been going on for 2 hours at this point.
Luckily the nurse gave us the rest of the material she used, since she would have to throw it away anyway. So I applied the foamy thing and put bandaids over it. Then I put one of those baby mittens on over his hand. So far no blood has soaked through. The mitten has come off a few times, but we put it back on before Jeremy can munch on his hand.
I was very impressed with how fast they treated him. Again I think we were just lucky to get there at the right time.

Thank the Lord all is well. God knew what He was doing giving Jeremy to you. Trials will come, it's how you get through them that counts. Good job to all three of you!
XXXOOOXXXOOOXXXOOO kiss his boo-boo for me!
I'll play devil's advocate here...
What in the world are you doing to that kid?!!!!
Glad to hear all is going well, though.
