Busy Week

He is starting to try to smile. He often "smiles" when I am changing his diaper. Soon after it turns into trying to get food. So I am not so sure it's an official smile.
Cats find any position comfortable as long as they are in a box.

So this week as been busy. Well busy for me. Jeremy has had quite a few visitors here, plus we have had many errands to run everyday. It is exhausting getting him ready to go somewhere. Plus once you feed him the clock starts running until the next feeding. Oh the joys of taking care of Jeremy.

Last night the home health care company came to set up Jeremy's test. When the lady started to unload the machine, she realized she didn't have all the parts. So this was at 5:30 when she got there and unfortunately she couldn't go back to her office that night. Luckily I have no life outside of Jeremy so we could reschedule for tonight.

She got here early today to make up for yesterday. Unfortunately we can't move him out of the room the machine is set up in. I wanted it in our room, but Graig wanted it in the family room so we can have some entertainment. Funny how the test has been running for about 2 hours and Graig has already gone upstairs to bed. But he needs to get some rest.

This machine uses the same leads as his apnea monitor, so he is already used to it. They have a monitor on his left leg to monitor when he moves his leg and on the right foot they are monitoring his oxygen. We put socks on him to keep the oxygen monitor on. In the NICU that puppy was constantly falling off. They want at least 8 hours of data, but it would be nice if we can leave it on longer. There is a display that you can look at his ECG, respiratory patterns, his oxygen, and also you can tell when he is moving. It is nice to see his oxygen levels at home are better than they were at the NICU. It is reassuring.

So I have a feeling it will be a long time until we get the results from the test because of the holidays. We probably aren't a priority. I might call his pediatrician and ask if they can take the machine. I just don't want it after the new year if we don't need it because our insurance resets then.

Tomorrow I think I am going to run some errands without Jeremy. A friend is going to babysit. I have already written the list with all the numbers and even have an insurance card with it. I wonder if I would have been so crazy if we didn't have the NICU drama. Apparently before I go back to work Jeremy and I need to practice sometime apart. At least it will make it easier for him and whoever watches him when I go back. I don't think anything will make it easier for me.
